Orange Coast College baseball coach among 9 killed in helicopter crash
Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli was among the 9 victims
of the a helicopter crash that also killed former Los Angeles Lakers star
Kobe Bryant. The crash which occured 71 miles Northwest of Costa Mesa is
being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board. Altobelli
who was 56 had been coaching the Pirates since 1993. His head coaching
career was a record of 705–478–4. His wife Keri and daughter Alyssa were
also killed in the crash.
