Officer Arrested In Fatal Shooting Of Unarmed African-American Man

After a short investigation, Texas Rangers arrested Wolfe City police officer Shaun Lucas
today. Lucas is accused of killing 31-year-old Jonathan Price late Saturday night at Kwik
Chek. In their investigation, Texas Rangers concluded that Lucas' actions were not
"objectionably reasonable".
Lucas was booked into the Hunt County Jail on a murder charge with his bond in lieu of $1
million bond. He was transferred to another unknown county jail this evening.
Saturday night, Price was intervening in the domestic violence situation, where a man and
woman were arguing according to witnesses.
Witnesses at the scene say that Price raised his hands and attempted to explain what was going
on. Police fired tasers at him and when his body convulsed from the electrical current, they
“perceived a threat” and shot him to death.
Lucas is accused of shooting Price of Wolfe City sereval times after arriving on scene of
the domestic violence call.
